Private Bookings
The Parish Council encourages private events and bookings inside our 3 public parks. We believe events add to the enjoyment people have in our parks. The Parish Council accepts private bookings based on the charging structure set out below. The income we receive goes towards the maintenance and improvements we make to our parks.
We have also set out below event information for each of our parks.

Parish Council Facilities for Hire
Town Gardens Bowl
This is Swindon’s only outdoor event space, which is enclosed, has its own stage and power requirements. This space is great for private parties or weddings, outdoor theatre, outdoor cinema, music concerts and all outdoor events that require an enclosed space.
The Town Gardens Bowl’s art deco style is unique in the world and was based on the Hollywood Bowl. It was built in the 1930s making it a key piece of Swindon’s heritage.
GWR Park, Faringdon Road
GWR Park is great for larger events that require a vast open space. Example of previous events include the Mela Festival, the Nepali Festival, Armed Forces Day event and Swindon’s Oktoberfest.
Near to the Town Centre and Swindon’s train station this park presents great transport links.
Town Gardens Park Including Bandstand
The Town Gardens is one of Swindon’s most popular parks, right in the heart of the Old Town. Created in the late 19th Century it retains many of its historic features and is trees. Events taking place here has included the Enchanted Gardens Light Trail and Swindon & Wiltshire Pride.
Queens Park
Great for smaller events in a beautiful ornamental setting. Examples of previous events and private bookings include Park Yoga, brass band concerts, children’s events and other community events.

Booking Information
- Returnable Deposit for Events: £1000
- Multi-Day Bookings: Discounts may be negotiated for multi-day event bookings.
- Payment Terms: A booking will not be confirmed until payment is provided.
Cancellation terms:
- Up to 6 months before event date: refundable deposit
- 6 months to 3 months before the event date: non-refundable 20% deposit
- 3 months to 2 months before the event date: 50% of hire fee payable
- 2 months to 1 month before the event date: 70% of hire fee payable
- 1 month before the event date: 100% of hire fee payable
