Job Roles Available:

Governance & Support Officer 

Closing Date: Midnight, Sunday 27th September

South Swindon Parish Council is looking for an organised, motivated and proactive Governance & Support Officer to join our Community & Admin team.

This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys working across governance, administration, planning and projects, and who wants to play an important part in supporting the effective running of the Parish Council.

Working closely with the Assistant Clerk, CEO, Deputy CEO, councillors and colleagues across the Council, you will help ensure that our governance and administrative processes are efficient, well organised and responsive to the needs of our residents and communities.

Salary Range: SCP 13-17 (£30,023-£32,046)

Hours: Full-Time post, 37 hours per week

Youth Engagement Officer 

Closing Date: Midnight, Sunday 27th September

South Swindon Parish Council is looking for an enthusiastic, approachable and motivated Youth Engagement Officer to join our Youth Department and help us make a positive difference to young people across South Swindon Parish.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with young people and wants to play a key role in delivering the Parish Council’s Youth Strategy.

In 2024, the Parish Council adopted a new Youth Strategy focused on developing volunteer-led youth clubs across South Swindon Parish and establishing annual youth objectives to address gaps in youth provision. You will work alongside our Youth Worker to help sustain existing Youth Clubs, support the development of new provision and deliver projects that respond to the needs of young people in our communities.

Salary Range: FTE £30,023-£32,046 (SCP 13-17)

Hours: Part-Time post, 15 hours per week

Communications Officer

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and creative Communications Officer to join our team and help us connect with our residents, communities and service users. We are a progressive council with an ambition to build strong, resilient communities and enhance the quality of life of our residents. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional to play a key role in promoting the work, services and projects of the Parish Council.

You will lead on a wide range of communications activity, including media relations, social media, newsletters, websites, marketing, events and community engagement.

Salary Range: SCP 18-23 (£32,578-£35,570)

Hours: Full-Time post, 37 hours per week

Events Supervisor (Casual)

We’re hiring a casual Events Supervisor to be employed on an ad hoc basis, to support the events that the Parish Council runs in its parks.

The Parish Council runs a varied program of events in the parks it manages. We’re looking for an experienced, dynamic individual who has great attention to detail and is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service to join the events team.

This role has been created to supervise the operation of events organised by the Parish Council in their parks, including liaising with visiting companies and leading a team of events staff and volunteer ushers to coordinate the delivery of successful events that provide a positive customer experience.

Salary Range: £15.75 per hour

We’re hiring a casual Events Assistant to be employed on an ad hoc basis, to support the events that the Parish Council runs in its parks.

The Parish Council runs a varied program of events in the parks it manages. We’re looking for an experienced, dynamic individual who has great attention to detail and is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service to join the events team.

This role has been created to assist with the operation of events organised by the Parish Council in their parks, including working as part of a team to ensure teh delivery of successful events that provide a positive customer experience.

Salary Range: £13.45 per hour
