South Swindon Parish Council were recently transferred the ownership of the Quarry Road Tennis Courts on a 99-year lease. The courts were in desperate need of refurbishment with lots of potholes and court 3 beginning to sink due to subsidence and tree root ingress.
In 2023, the Quarry Road Tennis Courts underwent a complete reconstruction and reopened in 2024 once the drainage issues in the area were addressed.
This was made possible by a £140k investment from South Swindon Parish Council, the UK Government and the LTA Tennis Foundation’s Park Tennis Project.
The National Tennis Association will be managing the courts after being awarded a long term lease.
Their aim to make tennis easily accessible with low charges, professional organisation and engaging activities for the local community.
