Who is the Community Gardener?

The Community Gardener supports various community gardens within South Swindon parish, either through maintenance or by providing guidance and support. They combine horticultural expertise with community engagement, working closely with Residents, Volunteers, Councillors and Council staff to develop beautiful spaces that help make South Swindon a better place for us all to live.

What is a Community Garden?

Community gardens are shared outdoor spaces that belong to the community. They can vary from raised beds and landscaped areas, to communal allotment sites and designated gardening areas.

What about Badbury Park?

The Badbury Park Community Garden consists of raised beds located outside the community hub and library on Homington Avenue. The raised beds here we planted by local volunteers in 2025, with a planting scheme focused on sustainable low maintenance designed by our Community Garden. The raised beds are also home to a small herb garden and sensory bed, for everyone to enjoy.

Badbury Park is home to the Badbury Bloomers gardening group, who meet regularly and carry out community litter pick and gardening sessions.
