The band was formed in 1887 in Cricklade and is the oldest established, continuously active, community award-winning association in Cricklade
We provide music for pop-up picnics to concerts and incidental music, agricultural shows to ceremonial parades, authentic bierfest music to dance parties, carnival processions and family ‘milestones’, civic and religious ceremonies – a healthy number of events each year!
The band is a not-for-profit organisation, our 30-ish musicians have an ethos of being an up-to-date, entertaining and immersive community band
Two other parts to our organisation are – BandAcademy which provides instruments and tuition in a friendly environment of equal opportunity to learners of all ages – and our ‘Crew’, – a uniformed team who look after our equipment, transport and performance presentation
